SSC JE Recruitment 2025: Apply for 1340 Vacancies Online

The Staff Selection Commission (SSC) has officially released the SSC JE Recruitment Notification 2025 for the post of Junior Engineer (JE) in various central government departments. The notification was published on 30 June 2025 and invites online applications from eligible diploma and degree holders in Civil, Mechanical, Electrical, and Electrical & Mechanical engineering disciplines.

This recruitment is for Group ‘B’ (Non-Gazetted, Non-Ministerial) posts in Pay Level 6 (₹35,400–₹1,12,400) as per the 7th Central Pay Commission. The selection will be based on Computer-Based Examinations (Paper-I and Paper-II).

The total tentative number of vacancies is 1340. Post-wise and category-wise details will be uploaded on the SSC website under the Candidate’s Corner > Tentative Vacancy section.

Please note:

• State-wise/zone-wise vacancies are not collected by SSC.
• For any such details, candidates must refer to the concerned user departments.

Eligibility Criteria

1. Nationality

Candidates must be:

• Citizens of India, or
• Subjects of Nepal or Bhutan, or
• Tibetan refugees settled in India before 1 January 1962, or
• Persons of Indian origin who migrated from select countries with a certificate of eligibility from the Government of India.

2. Educational Qualifications (As on 01 January 2026)

Different departments have different qualification requirements. Below is a summary:

Note: Experience is required only for some posts. Internships and training do not count toward experience.

3. Age Limit

• Candidates must have been born not earlier than 02-01-1996 (for 30 years max age)
• Relaxations apply for reserved categories.

Steps to Apply

1. Visit the official portal https://ssc.gov.in
2. Complete One-Time Registration (OTR) on the new portal.
3. Use Aadhaar authentication for easier identity verification (optional).
4. Fill in the online application form and upload:
   • Real-time photograph (if Aadhaar not used)
   • Scanned signature
5. Pay the application fee
6. Submit and save a copy for reference.

Mode of Payment: Online only (BHIM UPI, Net Banking, Credit/Debit Cards)
Deadline: 22 July 2025, 11:00 PM

Correction Window

• Period: 01-02 August 2025
• Correction Fees: ₹200 (first time), ₹500 (second time)
• Only candidates who paid the fee and submitted the application before 21 July 2025 can edit.

Exam Pattern

Paper-I (CBT)

• Negative marking: 0.25 marks per wrong answer

Paper-II (CBT)

• Negative marking: 1 mark per wrong answer

General Subjects

• Reasoning: Classification, Series, Coding-Decoding, Spatial Visualization
• Awareness: Indian History, Polity, Science, Economy, Environment, Current Affairs

Engineering Subjects

• Civil: Surveying, Soil Mechanics, RCC, Hydraulics, Environmental Engg.
• Mechanical: Thermodynamics, Fluid Mechanics, Machine Design
• Electrical: Circuit Theory, Transformers, Power Systems, Electrical Machines

Admit Card & Exam Centres

• SSC will release Admit Cards on its regional websites a few days before each exam.
• Candidates must carry their admit card, a valid photo ID, and follow instructions on reporting time and exam centre location.

Reservation and PwBD Suitability

• Posts are suitable for PwBD candidates except visually handicapped.
• Benefits include relaxation, compensatory time, scribe facility, and other applicable provisions based on government rules.
